Velscope ORAL / MOUTH Cancer Screening
Oral cancer is a problem that many of us are concerned with on a daily basis. One of the problems with oral cancer evaluation today is that the face of oral cancer is not what it used to be. Today we are finding people who do not fit the normal profile that develop problems with their soft tissues of the mouth. Velscope is a great tool for us to be using! It is a light that we can shine on the oral mucosa and as we look at that tissue through a special lens we can see normal tissue and we can see tissue that looks abnormal. The abnormal tissue may or may not be visible to our eyes under normal lighting. This technology then gives a chance to "catch" lesions that are not really visible to our eyes yet.
