Dental Implants

An implant is generally used for people who have lost teeth either through trauma, decay, gum disease or old age. Whatever the reason for loosing the tooth/teeth the functional and aesthetic benefits of an implant can be massive.

An implant is a replacement for the root of your natural tooth and is secured into a pre drilled socket which is in your jaw bone and can therefore support a crown, bridge or secure a denture firmly in place. Implants are constructed using titanium which is known to be tolerated by bone and integrates easily with the bone tissue. When fitting we aim to achieve a close contact between the outer surface of the implant and the surrounding bone tissue allowing them to fuse together (known as Osseointergreation) which will give you a long lasting stable implant. The majority of implants we treat are referred by dental colleagues. A number of patients find the practice on the internet and self refer.
Modern dental implant materials and techniques have allowed more people to discover the life changing benefits of dental implants. An easy alternative to bridges and dentures, implants are one of the most natural and effective treatments for missing teeth.
