This week's Smile Makeover is Darren, from Durham. Darren had badly worn, upper teeth which resulted in the appearance of them being missing. Darren wanted his smile to look great for his forthcoming wedding, so Dr Simon Andrews set about placing poreclain veneers on the upper teeth whilst a course of home whitening helped to whiten the lower teeth. This patient wanted to reduce the amount of gum visibilty. Using a process of recontouring the gums and veneers, a much more even smile was created.
The patient here has a mottled and discoloured smile. A course of whitening treatment has improved the colour and overall appearance of the smile.
A gappy smile has been transformed by adjusting the shape of the existing teeth and recontouring. Utilising porcelain veneers the smile is now even and full. This Smile Makeover won the Private Dentistry award for Best Smile Makeover for Dr Simon Andrews in 2006.
