Local firm wins national award

The Smile Spa, a state of the art, purpose-built private dental practice based in premises near Yarm, is proud to announce that Dr. Simon Andrews is the winner of the Private Dentistry Awards 2006 “Best Smile Makeover”. This prestigious national award was given for the excellence of his work with patient Sarah Turner, and was won in competition with leading dental practices from all over the UK.

Dr. Andrews is delighted by this national recognition of excellence, especially as it comes only shortly after he was awarded Denplan’s National Award for Clinical Innovation in September 2006. The Smile Spa is also a short-listed finalist for Private Dentistry’s  “Best New Practice 2006”award, which will be announced in December 2006.

Dr. Andrews is pictured celebrating the award at the ceremony held in London’s Café Royale on 24th November 2006 together with some of The Smile Spa’s dental team (from left, Kerry Markham, Senior Dental Nurse, Michelle Honeywell, Treatment Co-ordinator and Lynn Nichols, Practice Manager). Dr. Andrews said:

“We came to London knowing that we were up against some very stiff competition, but I felt confident that we had as good a chance as anyone else. It’s great to think that we can compete with the likes of Harley Street dental practices, and that the work of the team has been recognised with this Award. This goes a long way to proving that the North East is competitive in every respect with dental practices nationwide.”

Practice Manager Lynn Nichols said:
“The team was so proud of Simon for winning this award – we will be really pleased to take it back to The Smile Spa. I know that not only Simon and the whole team there but also our patients will be as delighted as we are to have won”.
