The Smile Spa Study Clubs are a fabulous opportunity for local dentists to gain valuable CPD, learn new techniques and network with peers.
Forthcoming events are:
15th February 2012 -‘How to diagnose and treat teeth with a perio – endo lesion’ - with Dr John Turner and Wendy Cole BDS MSc (Clin Perio). - 6.30pm
John will discuss how endodontic treatment can save 85 -90% of teeth which suffer from chronic abscess. Whilst Wendy, will discuss how Periodontal Therapy can improve gum health and stability.
New for 2012 Hygienist Study Club:
We are excited to introduce a study club which focuses specifically on Hygienist issues. The Hygienist Study Programme is designed to provide the region’s Hygienists with an opportunity to develop their knowledge in specialist areas. Presented by Dr Wendy Cole BDS MSc (Clin Perio), the programme also offers 2 hours CPD at each seminar. The programme is free of charge and open to all qualified Hygienists.
The 2012 programme is as follows:
15th March Care of surgical periodontal patients - indications for surgery and post operative care and maintenance, when to treat non-surgically and when to refer
17th May Care of implants - preparation of the implants patient, monitoring of the peri-implant tissue maintenance and peri-implant disease.
13th September Maintenance of furcation involvement - diagnosis and management
8th November Photo-activated Disinfection Adjunct therapies; antibiotics, lasers
